Rees Sixth Graders Perform A Christmas Carol

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

A Christmas Carol is a ghost story!  Mrs. Frey's 6th grade students took to the stage on December 16th to haunt old Ebenezer Scrooge, and present Dickens' classic holiday tale of a  miser who changes his ways.  The cast performed well, and received many compliments.  Under the direction of Mrs. Bean, the students rehearsed the play for just over a month in order to prepare and give the performance to the Rees community as their holiday gift.  Thank you 6th graders!

Rees Fourth Graders Visit Utah State Capitol

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

The fourth grades at Rees Elementary were able to go to the Utah State Capitol Building.  This was a great experience where students were able to go on a tour of the Capitol Building.  They were able to learn about respecting the building and showing a reverent attitude toward it and what goes on there.  Students were able to learn about the process that a bill would go through to become a law.  This is a part of the curriculum that fourth graders learn.  They were allowed to go into the actual room that our state representatives are in and sit in their seats.

Christmas carols filled the gym and halls at Rees school as students performed and sang along at the annual Singing Around the Tree.  From Monday, December 19th to Wednesday, December 21st, the school joined in a celebratory assembly at the end of each day.  The Christmas tree was decorated and glowing as each grade level and the school orchestra performed their musical numbers.  The audience sang together many popular tunes like "Frosty the Snowman" and "Up On the Housetop" while they waited for the next performance.
