“Ohana” Arts Night by Bennett Gordon
This is Bennett Gordon reporting. Last night was the family “Ohana,” Arts Night. It was legit!!! I’m glad I went to the arts night and I’m glad I have an awesome dad to take me to this event. At the family arts night the hula teacher Timbre Casey did a cool hula dance for us. Then we went to the classes.
At Mrs. Chidester’s class we made Hawaiian patterns. It was like making snowflakes. At Hula we learned a fun hula dance. She taught us how we need to move our hips by bending our knees. We also learned how to move our hands.
At music we played the ukulele. The Chuns taught us some ukulele songs. Mr. Chun was really awesome. He was like Jackie Chan and Mrs. Chun had a beautiful voice when she sang.
Now I didn’t go to creative movement with Mr. Roberts but Gavin Scheiver did. He said it was fun watching the people act out legends. He also said they played a fun game. Those are some of the things we did at the “Legit” Family “Ohana,” Arts Night.
Fun Night for Families by Naomi Memmott
Hi! This is Naomi Memmott here reporting on what people really enjoyed at Family Arts Night at Rees Elementary on Monday, November 18th. I don’t know about you guys but I went and it was a BLAST! The place was packed and it was so interesting.
I asked Antonio Cerna what he enjoyed and he said, “It was theater with Mr. Roberts because he had all these adverbs written down and someone picked one. Then someone else would act it out and would guess what the adverb was.” Wow! That sounds like lots of fun.
Israel Bahena said his favorite class was Hula. I asked him why? He said, “I like shaking my hips!”
Anyway, as you can see, if you didn’t go, you missed out!
