Students perform a story that tells how mosquitos came to be.

Students at Rees Elementary attended an assembly on Friday, October 14 to celebrate what they had learned from the previous two weeks during Artists in Residence.  It was an afternoon of dancing, singing, dramatic performances, storytelling, visual artworks, and an overall appreciation for Native American art and culture.  Well known artists came from miles around to teach the students in these art forms for 50 minutes each day for two weeks.  By the time the assembly came, students were eager to share the skills and knowledge they gained.

Fun Run 1

On your marks, get set, go!  The community surrounding Rees Elementary in Spanish Fork was the site of the PTA Fun Run on Wednesday, September 28th.  Students, faculty, and parents lined up on the south end of the school in anticipation.  Runners took off from the start line and weaved through surrounding streets.  After two laps, the runners had completed a mile and could partake of the bounty of apple slices and water awaiting them.  Hundreds of students from grades K-6 participated in the Fun Run, resulting in hundreds of miles run and hundreds of smiles.  It's fun to be fit!
