Rees Students Gifted More Trees

Submitted by heidi.groneman on
Rees Elementary is a little more green! The Eagles were awarded a grant from the Nebo Education Foundation to plant more trees around our school. On Friday, students ranging from kindergarten to 3rd grade helped plant two new pine trees in front of the school. Students helped to fill in dirt, water the tree, and spread mulch. These trees will be used to help teachers in upcoming science lessons on the water cycle, ecosystems, and scientific observation. We are very grateful that the Nebo Education Foundation selected Rees to receive this grant.

Rees Eagles Celebrate Veteran's Day

Submitted by heidi.groneman on

To honor Veteran's Day, our Rees Eagles had the opportunity to watch a virtual Veteran's Assembly. They also spent some time during the day learning more about veterans and honoring their wonderful, selfless service to our country. We are all incredibly grateful for all veterans and their service in the past and currently. THANK YOU VETERANS!

Veteran's Day Zoom in Miss Saxon's 3rd Grade Class

Submitted by heidi.groneman on

Miss Saxon's class had a special guest veteran speak - via Zoom! Her dad is a retired Lt. Col. for the U.S. Army. He talked about why he chose to join the Army, mentioned what he did and some of the places he went to, and suggested ways we could support veterans. His suggestions included just finding any way to thank a veteran, doing service for an active military member and their family, or going through an organization like Operation Gratitude that directs your care packages, letters, or donations to veterans to brighten their days.
