5th Grade March Madness Basketball

Submitted by heidi.groneman on

The last week and a half our 5th grade students had the opportunity to play in a 3 on 3 basketball tournament that Mr. Cook and Mr. Gull put together.  Students had a great time playing basketball games and practicing good sportsmanship along with their peers.  It was so fun to see the students having fun and learning to work as a team, as well as be kind to others.

K9 Visit to Rees 4th Graders

Submitted by heidi.groneman on

Fourth grade students got a special visit from Ajax, a special dog that works with The Utah County Sheriff's Department. In science, the 4th graders have been learning about how animals receive and process information from their environment using their senses. We were able to see how Ajax has been trained to help police officers by using his highly developed sense of smell. We learned that dogs like Ajax have 300 million scent receptors in their noses compared to the 400 scent receptors that humans have!
