"Have you ever met an Indian?" was the question of the day in Kindergarten. Most of the children answered, "No!"
Before the day was over, the children met several "indians", better known as Native Americans". They learned these people's great, great, great, great, great grandparents were on this land before the Pilgrims came here. They were here even before Christopher Columbus sailed to this land. The Kindergartners got to learn about the cultures of several Native american Tribes. They ate Indian Fry Bread, looked at and touched Native American artifacts, watched and participated in Native American dance and music. It was a fun, educational day. Now we have met some real "indians"! We learned they are regular people whose ancestors were on American soil long, long ago.
