Rees Eagles spend their mornings listening to Laura Brockbank play requests by ear on the piano. Laura Brockbank is a Music Integration Coach for Nebo School District, working through the Beverly Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program. The vision of the BTS Arts Program is that every elementary school student receives a high-quality arts experience as part of their education. Mrs. Brockbank will work closely with teachers of all grades to provide this experience over the next several weeks.
Third grade chose to enhance their learning of The Viking Age by incorporating their knowledge of Old Norse Geography, Mythology, and Vocabulary into the musical style of a Sea-Chanty. A Sea-Chanty is a genre of traditional folk song commonly sung by workers aboard large merchant sailing vessels, such as those used during The Viking Age, to keep everyone in the same rhythm.
