5th Grade Reaction Time

Submitted by heidi.groneman on
The 5th grade had the pleasure of having Paisley from the Children's Museum of Utah come and do hands-on physical changes and chemical reactions with us.  The students were able to mix substances and then determine whether or not a new substance was created or not.  This was a great way to reinforce the learning that has been going on in our classrooms!  (Not only was it fun and educational, each of the students get a free pass for admission to the museum!!)

Mrs. Luke’s and Mrs. Tew’s classes have been studying forms of energy and energy transfer in science. This week Students were given the opportunity to use their knowledge to design and create a pizza box oven to cook s’mores in. The students had a blast figuring out their designs and putting them to the test. The ovens were a huge success and cooked the s’mores to perfection! Science can be truly delicious!
