Mission to Mars

Submitted by angie.keisel on

On Friday, March 22, 2016 Mr. Mendenhall’s sixth grade class had a “Mission to Mars” event.  It was an even that was supposed to simulate actually landing on Mars.  The way the class simulated the Mars landing or “7 minutes of terror” was by having students create rockets out of 2 liter soda bottles that could carry an egg inside of them, be launched 200 feet in the air, plummet down, and have the egg survive.  It was a pretty good turnout for participants that day.  Quite a few kids made rockets, a lot of which actually survived.
