The 6th had the great opportunity to listen to Janene Woolsey Baadsgaard.  She taught us about the writing process.  She  gave us inspiration to follow our dreams, and work hard!  It was fun to hear her talk about how she got her first book published.  She has published 14 books.

Pictured are the students who literally went the extra mile getting donations for our PTA fund-raiser Walk-a-thon and/or who walked the longest distance around the track.  The reward for the classes who brought in the most money was to have their teachers wrestle Mr. Pitcher.  Miss Ledingham and Mr. Mendenhall's classes won that honor.  The rest of the studentbody and teachers got to enjoy the experience.  Thanks to all that aprticipated!

And the Golden Book Goes To...

Rees Elementary First Graders celebrate reading in style!  Every 4 weeks the students gather to see which first grade classroom has the most days of at least 20 minutes of reading.  With an average of 27 students per class, those days add up very quickly.  The winning class had collected between 350 and 400 days. When a winning class is announced, the students get to choose their form of Read-a-thon, as well as display the Golden Book in their classroom for the next 4 weeks.  The winning class for September was Mrs.
