December Reading Carnival

Submitted by angie.keisel on

Students participated in a reading carnival on Friday held in their behalf.  Depending on how often a student reads, reading tickets are earned to spend at the carnival.  There’s so many options for students to participate in and it’s something that all of us at the school look forward to.  Students love it because they’re celebrating their hard work by reading at home.  Teachers love it because we get to see students’ progress and confidence grow.

Rees Artists

Students from the fourth, fifth and sixth grade classes performed on Friday, November 13 to share what they had learned during the two weeks of Artists in Residency at Rees Elementary.  Students were able to choose between 4 different art forms: visual arts, musical theater, storytelling, and creative movement.  Each art form enriched students’ knowledge, abilities and talents.  Some groups performed on stage while other projects are displayed at the school.  Thank you to the artists who spend so much of their time preparing and teaching the students at our school.

2nd Grade Field Trip

On Friday, November 6th, second grade students visited the Springville Art Museum.  This was a first for many of our students. We learned many different techniques and styles of different art forms.  We even learned how to gesture draw with a tornado as a body!  We’re so lucky to have this museum close to our homes.
