Nebo District Board Meeting

Submitted by angie.keisel on

Rees Elementary was chosen to present at board meeting on Wednesday, October 7, 2015.  Mr. Pitcher-principal, Camille Hill – School Community Council member, Mrs. Searle-first grade teacher and Miss Ledingham-fifth grade teacher, along with several second graders, singing our school song, were on the agenda.

The second grade students started the meeting by singing our school song:

When I am at Rees I do my very best,

On class work, homework and the rest.

I honor others’ right to learn,

I raise my hand and take my turn,

I treat others as I want to be,

I walk and talk most quietly.

I care for others’ things, like they belong to me,

I’m an Eagle brave, strong and free.

I know to act REES-pectfully at Rees Elementary.

I’m an eagle brave and strong and free,

At Rees Elementary.

They were so awesome!  (Be sure to check out the video on Rees' Facebook page)

Next, Mr. Pitcher shared the school’s view on conceptual math instruction.

Camille Hill then addressed us as a representative from the community council.  She described all the efforts that are taking place to use Trustland money effectively.

Last, but definitely not least, Searle and Ledingham both shared their views on CMI and examples of students actively engaged in developing, practicing and solidifying concepts.

Thank you to all who were a part of this presentation.  Rees was represented VERY well.
