Many things were accomplished because of the annual Rees Elementary Jump-a-thon.  First of all, through the efforts of great leaders, students, and parents, $4,326.49 was raised for people with heart problems.  Second, heart problems were prevented through children participating in fun aerobic activities as they learned the joys of an active lifestyle.

All students were able to participate in grade level appropriate jump rope activities.  One of the activities was the Jump-off.  Each class held a contest to see which students could jump the rope longest without missing.  The winners got to compete in the Jump Off in the gym.  A winner was announced from each grade level and received a trophy.  Mr. Roberts (who could not resist showing up even though he has retired) won the faculty Jump Off and received a trophy with the inscription, "I beat Mr. Pitcher!"  It was a battle to the finish.  Be sure to look at all the photos for a full report.
