Our second graders have had fun celebrating Johnny Appleseed day while learning math skills.  They have used apple seeds to help them practice addition.  The students had fun tossing apple seeds and adding the numbers of where they landed.

 Happy Johnny Appleseed Day!!  :)

We had a blast last night jamming to music by local star Ashley Garbe Smith and her amazing band!  Families came and enjoyed hotdogs, popcorn and mingling with each other.  Mr. Gull started the night out by sharing our new Positive Behavior Intervention Plan with parents.  He explained what SOAR stands for, Serve and Support, Own Your Actions and Words, and Respect.   Mrs. Darrington then explained what Title One means and how we use our Title One allocation funds.

She is kind, happy, professional, organized and she just gets it done! She is always so positive and happy with everyone that enters the office at Rees. Eagle EYE on Mrs. Kelly

Mrs. Kelly is a familiar face around Rees as she has been a favorite substitute for many years.  We are thrilled to have her join us as an official 4th grade teacher this year.  She is married with 4 kids, all of whom have attended Rees.  Her favorite vacation was a trip to Disneyland, and someday she would like to travel to Italy.  In her spare time she enjoys reading, scrapbooking and spending time with her family.  She loves Zupas, and Hot Tamales are her favorite treat.

Mrs. Kristi Hansen is our new afternoon skill builder.  Mrs. Hansen says her favorite part of the job is getting to be with kids.  She says "they are great and so much fun."  Mrs. Hansen has 4 boys and no girls.   Her family lives on a farm and they have cows, lambs, chickens and cats.  In her spare time she likes to run, scrapbook, make crafts and read.  Her favorite restaurant is anything with Mexican food because she loves chips and salsa.

Mrs. Heidi Groneman is joining us this year in 2nd grade.  She has taught school for 5 years, and has taught both 6th and 2nd grade.  Her husband is also a teacher.  They have 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl.   Her favorite trip was to Disneyland, and someday she would like to travel to New Zealand or Hawaii.  Her favorite restaurant is Carrabas and she loves peanut butter M&M's.  Someday she would like to get a Masters degree and finish her basement.  If she won the lottery she would pay off her house, help her family, and travel.
