We had a great Math Pumpkin activity! We predicted, measured, weighed, and guessed how many pumpkin seeds there were in our pumpkins. Then we counted out the number of seeds in our pumpkins by putting the seeds into groups of 10. It is always amazing to everyone that just because a pumpkin is bigger than another, it doesn't mean that it is going to have more seeds that a smaller pumpkin.
They say cookies make the world a better place. That is why the PTA is selling cookie dough from Pizza Factory this year. This is a great fundraising opportunity with a fun, quality product, and half the funds collected going to the PTA. The money raised helps support PTA activities and sponsored events like: Book Fair, Teacher Appreciation Day, Family Activity Night, Box Tops, Reflections, SEP dinners and more!
It's time again for our annual Artist in Residence. We will have artists here for two weeks teaching about dance, photography, visual arts and storytelling. All 4th, 5th and 6th grade students will be participating in this rotation. The parent performance will be held on November 17th at 1:30 PM. We hope you can join us!

It's actually a hot air balloon created by the Rees Elementary 6th graders. Our 6th graders wrapped up learning about molecules, density, and heat by designing and launching hot air balloons. It was a wonderful way to solidify key ideas and see scientific principles in action! Not only did the 6th graders enjoy it, but other students were amazed to see the hot air balloons out on the playground and floating by their classroom windows.

Here ye! Here ye! The Gods of Olympus are pleased! For the past few weeks we’ve been learning about the Ancient Greece and their beliefs. Did you know they were polytheistic? They believed in many gods! We’ve also been doing projects, reading books, and even playing games to learn about this fascinating culture.
The Nebo Education Foundation recently awarded Mr. Mendenhall with a grant to buy iPads. He said, “This grant is allowing me to purchase four iPads for my 6th grade classroom. iPads are the BEST production tool any classroom can have. An iPad is a camera, a video camera, a mixing board, a green screen, and a production computer with all the software included! In my classroom, my students will be creating instructional videos, showcase learning, expressing their ideas all with a "real world" tool.
Fourth Grade has been learning all about weather in science. Today the fourth graders got to predict the weather by looking at the cold and warm fronts, as well as high and low pressure systems. They had a blast making their predictions and checking to see if they were correct!
