Rees Elementary Fundraising Carnival was a HUGE Success!

Submitted by heidi.groneman on

Last Friday, our school had a FANTASTIC carnival to raise money to help support our students this year.  It was a HUGE success and completely surpassed our expectations!  We are so grateful for the support of our wonderful PTA, parents and grandparents, businesses around the community, as well as Rees staff who helped make this such a great success!  It was so much fun to see so many Rees families having fun together.  The money raised will go towards field trips, assemblies, supplies, and other things needed to help student achievement this school year.

First Week of Kindergarten was GREAT!

Submitted by heidi.groneman on

Our new Rees Kindergarten students have had a wonderful first week! It has been do much fun to have them in the school.  They were able to meet our Rees 5th Grade student council students who taught them our Rees Eagles Chant.  Mr. Gull also met with the students to share what it looks like to SOAR here at Rees. All the students have been doing a terrific job each day and we love having them as part of our school!

4th Grade Science Fun!

Submitted by heidi.groneman on

Rees Elementary 4th grade is studying the cause and effect relationship between the speed of an object and the energy of that object. To further our understanding, we played a game with marbles. The goal of the game was to use the right amount of speed and energy when shooting a marble to knock an opponent's marble out of bounds while keeping your own marble from going out. This game really helped us observe changes in energy as we watched the marbles collide!
