Nebo Snow Day Update

Dear Parent/Guardian:

Thank you for going the extra mile during inclement weather events. As a district of over 34,000 students and 4,500 employees, dealing with inclement weather is challenging, complex, and at times frustrating for everyone.

As you are aware, we had a “snow day” on Monday, February 3, 2020. The decision to cancel school was based on the hazardous weather of the morning, the forecast of a “super storm” for the rest of the day, extremely cold temperatures, and the slick conditions of the roads. We are aware that forecasts may not prove entirely accurate; but considering the conditions at the time, we decided that student and employee safety was our priority.

Since state law requires that we hold 180 instructional days, it has been decided that March 20, 2020, will be the snow make-up day. Because the snow day occurred during what would have been a Monday, minimal day, Friday, March 20, 2020, will also be a minimal day (like many of our Monday minimal days).

If you have questions regarding items in this email or inclement weather in general, please feel free to contact your local school. Detailed information regarding the recent snow day and other inclement weather information can be found on the Nebo website at www.nebo.edu/schools/status

We truly believe that by working together, we can continue to make Nebo School District a great place for our students and employees. We thank you once again for your patience and support as we try to maneuver unpredictable inclement weather events.
